You Know You're Getting Old When...

you choose comfort + support over style when it comes to picking new shoes.

I've been in desperate need of a new pair of shoes. I'm a huge fan of Sperry's but couldn't find a style that I liked.

Wednesday night I was faced with 2 very similar shoes - both ballet-type of shoe and both had support. One was a little more stylish and one was pretty ugly. One was "kind of comfortable" and the other was totally comfortable.

You know which pair of shoes I picked - after an internal dilemma - the shoes that felt like I was walking on air.

In my eyes, not the cutest. Seriously, what's that weird double strap/thread crossing? I haven't the slightest clue. Weird. Not my personal taste. BUT - definitely comfortable. (And out of all the choices for this brand - the most simple/not completely ugly.)

Sorry Naturalizers - you're not the most stylish but you surely are a winner in my book. Thanks for making my feet feel wonderful and giving my arches much needed support!

What do you do - go for the comfortable old lady shoes or pick the most "in" shoe?

  1. At work I go for comfort too! Those shoes aren't bad at all. You could always cut of the little elastic things.

  2. I hate to say it but Ive been choosing comfort lately too. Guess that does mean we are getting old, haha! I think those are cute though, not bad at all.

  3. My favorites are Aerosoles. They have some ugly shoes, but they also have some really cute ones - and they're SUPER comfy! Check them out at the St. Aug Outlets next time you're over there. :)

  4. I've been choosing comfort too...not always, but a lot of times. The bigger my belly gets, the more I want to wear sneakers or flats or even my Uggs. I think the shoes you chose are cute!! Maybe the straps are so they don't slip off?! Lol
Hope you have a beautiful weekend, Cami!

  5. Ha I must have been old since I was little if that was the case. If something is not comfortable I don't even try it!
