Chia Seeds...HUH?!

Hopefully you saw my Tasty Tuesday recipe about chia seed pudding! If you did and you're wondering what chia seeds are - I'll do a break down for you.

I only just recently learned about them! I'm not sure if it's just a fad or what, but recently they've been getting a whole lot of press!

I think I'll just stick to the numbers -

Chia seeds (gram by gram) have...

1,400% more magnesium than broccoli
800% more phosphorus than whole milk
700% more omega-3 than salmon
500% more calcium than milk
500% more protein than kidney beans
300% more selenium than flax seeds
200% more iron than spinach
100% more potassium than bananas
100% more fiber than bran flakes

more antioxidants than blueberries
more folate than asparagus
more lignans than flax

An addition of just one tablespoon of chia seeds a day to your existing diet can benefit your health!
(In many ways! It helps improve heart health, increase your energy, improves your complexion, help you sleep better at night, aids in bone health, all around "feel good," etc...many more benefits!)

I was able to get 12 ounces of chia seeds for about $8 - can't beat that! Especially since you use so few. It should last quite some time.

Have you been using chia seeds in your diet?!
