Some Thoughts

Happy Monday! :)

As I sit here this beautiful morning, I am thankful for another beautiful, wonderful weekend. Quick recap: I got to read my Mockingjay: Hunger Games on Friday night with some hot coco; after work on Saturday, had date night with V...we got a sushi boat at one of our favorite restaurants and walked around St. Augustine to see the Nights of Lights and indulged in some ice cream - yum; Sunday, we went to church, ate breakfast on the beach in one of our favorite places and then I saw Mission Impossible 4 (great movie!) with my mom and had dinner with my parents. We also watched the Denver game...oh boy, next week will be a doosy - Tom Brady vs. Tim Tebow!

What a wonderful weekend - I am so blessed!

Me outside in St. Augustine - nights of lights!
Gotta love Instagram ;)

Outside having lunch on Sunday <3

You know, I'm not a fan of the fact that on my home page, my photos get all super distorted. It looks so gross. (I think!) Not really sure how to fix it.

Dinner on Saturday night! Love :)

I recently got a pretty interesting e-mail that really got me thinking. First off, I understand that this is a blog and anything goes. I'm making my private life public. Not sure how I feel about that. I don't think I write about anything particularly negative or make anyone I write about come off as a horrible person. (At least I try not to make this happen!) So why has someone gotten this impression? Especially about someone I love.

My blog is more for me than anything. It's to release myself in my thoughts. It's to remind myself to stay positive and to stay thankful. I have enjoyed getting to know many of you - to growing with you and gaining a relationship with some of you.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - but when an opinion isn't asked for - why give it?

I never understood that. Sometimes I'll tell someone a story about something and automatically, they put their two cents in. Have you ever thought to just be quiet, listen and oh yeah...not put in your two cents? If I wanted your thoughts, I would ask for them. (I know this is coming off incredibly rude and harsh - but sometimes - it is what it is. I am simply sharing my life with you and that's it.

I don't know. All I know is when someone is telling me about something or someone, unless I am asked to give my opinion...I don't. Why can't I get the same respect?

Like I said, I understand that this is a blog - my private life is for the public. BUT, I give people respect, so I expect it in return. If I would like your opinion about something I am doing or someone I might be blogging about, I will ask for it. ESPECIALLY since this is a blog - you do not know all about my life or situations or all the people in it - so why do you think from the information I give it is enough to form a decent opinion? Uhm. I don't think so.

ANYWAY - I hope you all have a lovely day! I do appreciate all feedback, comments, etc. It always makes me happy. I am not saying I don't want your feedback...all I am saying is - I respect you, you respect me.

  1. Amen sister! Seriously a lot of bloggers need to get off their high horses. I don't blog about certain things for a reason. I don't believe in talking about work on my blog and I don't believe in airing out my dirty laundry on my blog. And that is my choice. That is the thing about blogs, each person can choose what they want to share. If all they want to do is post pinterest pictures, then hey more power to them! You are so right if I want an opinion I ask for it, if not just support me and if you don't support what I am saying don't comment and move on! Phew, you go girl. Stick up for what you believe in.

  2. I'm sorry that someone has hurt your feelings. My blog is fairly new so I haven't run into this yet, but I know a lot of bloggers who have. I agree with Mrs. Monologues though. Your blog is YOURS and you can do whatever you want with it. I've talked about some personal issues on mine, without mentioning names, but it's because I needed to get it off my chest. I try to avoid talking about work, but sometimes we have to share parts of our personal lives to set a story or just enable readers to get to know you. We got yo back! :)

  3. AMEN! I'm happy you said something! I felt so bad for you when you texted me all upset! But like I said in the text: don't let people bring you down or hurt your feelings ... you know your own truth and to be honest, that's ALL that matters! Love you girl! Keep your head up and stay your positive self! And remember: I'm ALWAYS here if you need me! xoxoxo

  4. Hi Cami,

So glad to get to stop by today! It looks like you had a great weekend! I just started rereading all of the Hunger Games books last week - just started Mockingjay this morning. I'm excited for the movies to come out!

I know what you mean about your blog being your personal space. I haven't received one of those emails (yet!), but I can imagine how hurtful or offputting that can be -- especially for someone who does not know the situation in it's entirety. Kudos for spouting off about it on your "personal" place, though. Get it out, girl! I think we all know how you feel. :)

  7. Hi Cami, Your weekend sounds like a happy one. I think happiness follows you around with your great positive outlook on life. I love your photos and if they aren't perfect, who cares. Blogs are all about sharing and keeping a journal of your important pics and thoughts in a post for your enjoyment. My blog exists for the same reasons. A form of expressing ourselves in print. No one needs an opinion unless you ask for one. You are so right on. I totally agree.

    You go girl!!!
I have loved knowing you through blogging.
    xoxoxo, Jeanne
