Summer Nails!

Sinful Colors: Hazard and Sally Hansen: Mint

In personal the color is more of a light coral mixed with peach than the deep coral you see here!

I tend to wear nail polish based on my mood - last night I was in a mood to go to the beach, hence my nails!

Do you wear your nail polish based on your mood or just to match your outfit?

I decided to get a "Christmasy" color for my gel manicure - maybe (just MAYBE!) it'll last me until Christmas?!

Let me vent for a second - usually I go to one particular lady for my nails. Unfortunately, she's moving come January. So I decided I'd try to find a new nail tech I can use. (Well that and my lady wasn't working Thursday night when I wanted to grab my mani!) I went to a new place - close to home - so I figured it'd be convenient if I fell in love.

It was not love at first mani. Why do people speak a different language that I clearly do not speak?! I don't care if you're talking about me or not - it's rude. It's mean. I know you can speak English perfectly fine - what's the deal?!

Am I the only one who is peeved by this?

Nail Files: Zoya Style

I decided to grab a Zoya with my Birchbox points. They didn't have many choices so I came up with this one, Marley.

I LOVE the way the polish came on - very smooth and not crazy thick. I think I just might be a Zoya fan.

This isn't really a "fall color" - so sue me ;)

Birchbox VS Ipsy - October

Another stash of some lifestyle/makeup fun!

My Birchbox...

-Essie polish

-Jouer, lip enhancer

-Malin+Goetz, vitamin b5 body moisturizer

-Supergoop sunscreen

-Kusmi Tea - 2 different types (extra)

-Malin+Goetz, grapefruit face cleanser (extra)

My thoughts...

Essie polish is fabulous. Love the color! This polish pretty much makes the whole box worth it - it's usually $8 so well worth it.

The Jouer, lip enhancer is also great because there is no color. Love lip products that don't have crazy colors.

I'm pretty happy with the body moisturizer as well. The smell isn't too great but definitely moisturizes.

I'm not too thrilled with the sunscreen. Sunscreen is sunscreen, isn't it?

I am super excited to try the Kusmi tea - I love finding new delicious teas.

I'm always nervous to try new face cleanser...my skin tends to be sensitive and I'm always nervous it'll cause me to breakout!

Thoughts: This was a pretty okay Birchbox. If it wasn't for the Essie, I wouldn't have been a happy camper - at all! The polish saved it. I am happy about the lip enhancer and moisturizer but doesn't take over the box like the polish does!

My thoughts...

Like I said earlier, I'm a huge lip gloss lover. But the color of this Lip Bomb Glossy Stain is horrible. I tried wearing it and it completely washed me out. I wish it looked good - it seemed like it would last a long time.

Ohmygosh. The Be a Bombshell Eye Liner is just WONDERFUL! It is a marker-like tip and so easy to put on. I am so happy with this. I think that this eye liner is well worth the whole bag!

I love finding new mascara that I like...theBalm mascara is pretty great.

I'm excited to try the Perquil Oil Treatment. With my frizz ball hair, I need some type of treatment to help tame my frizz. So far, it seems to work. The smell is pretty good too.

New eye shadow makes me iffy - especially since I'm a happy camper with my TooFaced palette. I have yet to use the Coastal Scents Eye Shadow - when I do, I'll let you know how it is!

This makeup bag is just wonderful, isn't it?

My Thoughts: Again - ipsy outranks Birchbox this month for me!

My thoughts...

The Bvlgari perfume smells pretty good. I'm tired of perfume samples though.

I am loving the Color Club Custom Nail Polish - such a pretty color!

The twistband Lace Hair Tie is actually pretty neat...it's pretty and so comfy.

The Vasanti Bright Up! is ok. I got a brightner cleanser a few rounds ago and don't notice a difference at all. Should I?

Wei to go is REALLY neat. It's a cleanser but it is tinted. Perfect "sleep over" kit for sure.

The brush guard, I can't figure out how to use them...ha! :)

I haven't had a chance to check out the digital download yet. I'm not a big fan of them.

Thoughts: I'm actually a fan of this Birchbox! I really liked the twistband tie, nail polish, and wei to go! So that's half of the box. Better than I've been doing! I also like the little fall trend booklet they have included.

Would it be weird if I used the make up bag as a small purse? I just might. I am loving it!

I just recently got some eye shadow brushes so seeing the smudge brush made me happy!

I am intrigued with the split end sealer! I should really get a hair cut due to split ends...but this sealer intrigues me and I cannot wait to try it out.

-I am always a fan of sparkle gloss! This gloss is better than last month's gloss. (In my opinion.)

-The mirabella eye color is pretty. I'm going to test it out within the next couple of days to see how long it lasts.

-Without a top clear coat on it, the Tightrope by Circus is a little dull...it almost looks matted. But with the clear coat, looks pretty!

Thoughts: Love. Love. Love. I am a huge fan of all of these products. I don't have anything negative to say. Maybe I lucked out...again? (2 months in a row - 2 thumbs up!)

Do you ladies still have Birchbox...or did you make the switch to MyGlam/Ipsy or another program? I want to know your thoughts :)

I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Independence Day! How did you celebrate? I celebrated (after work!) with a full day of fun in the sun with friends and family. Wish my parents could have came (my poor mom is on bed rest because of her knee...she has to have surgery soon...prayers for her, please!)

I am thankful for...

Even though I've been a bad blogger this week - you guys still love me. I hope! ;)

For all of the friends & family time I've had this week!

Being able to watch beautiful fireworks last night - and if I wanted to - right outside my window. White fireworks are my favorite!

Keeping a positive attitude in crummy situations.

Beautiful weather ALL week and no crazy waves in the ocean...love when it's flat!

Having even just a little bit of alone time and time to unwind after a 15 hour day...even if it's just 15 minutes right before bed.

Painting my toe (and finger!) nails red, white, blue & white "stars" on me...and then V's sister, aunt, grandma, and cousin doing it too :) Love bonding time like that!

True love.

I am thankful for...

-pastel colors lately...they have been my favorite - especially for nail polish :)

-being able to create my own business card and menu for my new JUICE BAR!! Ideally, it'll be opening in less than two weeks. I am so excited about it. To God be all the glory!

-that my family and I were able to hang out for Mother's Day...and I made a killer pulled pork if I do say so myself. ;)

-that it's been raining!! We needed some rain in Florida desperately...we've been on a burn ban.

-having a man who loves me even with my crazy PMS self.

-extra cheddar goldfish and sour gummie life savers - they got me through my cravings!

-making a delicious chicken cordon blue dish on Tuesday...yum, yum! My first time making it - great success!

-randomly being compliments and told how pretty I look while at work :)

-my best friend being my man...instead of having a tv in the living room, we just talk and talk...it makes me oh so happy <3 (sorry for the mushy gushiness of this post!)

-my mom getting an iPhone - 4s. She is going to absolutely love it!! And I'll finally be able to figure out what she's trying to say when she texts me. Hahah ;)

-having a baby shower to go to this weekend AND meeting up with one of my boardies..so excited! We'll be going to St. Augustine...hopefully it'll be nice enough weather where we can walk around afterwards!

-speaking of friends...seeing a friend on Friday for lunch we haven't seen one another in quite some time - he just graduated from law school too!

-Memorial Day weekend coming on up...3 full days off, here I come!!!

-celebrating my god-daughter's fourth birthday with her!

I am so blessed that so many of you take part of Thankful Thursday!! It makes me incredibly happy.

Also, because it is healthy for your mental health! If you write down one positive thought - one memory you are thankful for for that day - you will be a much happier and optimistic person! It will hopefully rub off on those you interact with as well - lets all add more positivity in the world...it already has quite enough negativity!

I am thankful for...

-surprise (love) sticky notes that completely make my day - it's the little things!:)

-seeing 2 shooting stars last Saturday night during the meteor shower/Super Moon session!

-taking a late night beach walk during the Super Moon...so gorgeous!

-celebrating Cinco de Mayo by grabbing some Mexican food with a friend for a late lunch on Saturday...it was oh so delicious! I think I found a new mexican joint in town!

-doing great with my workouts for another week! Seeing/feeling extra muscle makes me a happy camper!

-being able to spend Mother's day with my madre (and padre and sister) - I'm looking forward to it :)

-finding a new bathing suit! I am so picky when it comes to shopping in general...so when I came across a bathing suit I liked, I was stoked! I try to only buy strapless so I won't have horrible tan lines.

-my Dancing with the Stars crush is still a contender!

-being blessed with an amazing business opportunity...when it all pans out - cannot wait to share it with you all! <3

-finally trying out some of the EOS chap stick I have heard so much about...I'm not a huge fan of it. It smells great...tastes good - but it doesn't last long enough for me!

-having a delicious desert! yum :)

-usually I am not a big fan of purples...especially nail polish...but the light pink in Essie's spring line, I do like!

-love makes me very thankful :)

-Sundays becoming a wonderful beach day with some great friends!

Pet Peeves

I blogged about things I love then things I hate - so technically I should blog about things I love again - but I'm going with my pet peeves instead!

Cami's Pet Peeves...

-Leaving the timer on microwave.
Ok, lets say you take out whatever was in the microwave early - is it necessary to not cancel the remaining time out? For example, if you took it out 0:30s early - why do you leave that up?! Why can't you "cancel" it and then it show the current time? Irks me!

-Nail polish chipping/peeling/etc.

As most of you know, I have always had issues with nail polish. Why can't my nail polish last more than 24 hours? Sigh.

-Flowers dying too soon

Ok, you spend $15 on a nice bouquet and it lasts 5 days?? Uh...no! Meanwhile, I've spent as little as $5 for a decent bouquet with some great "flower feeder" and it's lasted 2 weeks. That's the way it should be!

-Smelly towels

After just using a bath towel a couple of times why doesn't it smell fresh??! I can't stand when it smells gross.

-When someone will text you instead of calling you back

HELLO - you obviously got my voicemail since you are texting me back...do you have laryngitis? No? Well what's the deal?

-Negative Nancies

Not everything is as bad as you say/think it is. And I don't want your negativity all up on me.

-Lack of Manners
If I take the time to cook you dinner or do something for you - all I would like it a "thank you" - it's not asking for much.

-People Cursing in Public
I choose not to speak like that, therefore I certainly do not want to hear it. What irks me even more is when there are little kids around!

Top 10 List of Guilty Pleasures

We all know there are some things about us that we might not necessarily want to admit to...

Cami's Top 10 Guilty Pleasures...
In no particular order...
1) Gilmore Girls.
If it's on - I seriously HAVE to watch it. Even though I can pretty much recite every SINGLE episode...no joke.

2) Backstreet Boys Songs.
Yes, it's okay to act like an 8th grade girl now and then. If I'm with my sister or childhood friends and a BSB song comes on...ohhhh boy!

3) Someone playing with my hair.
I loved this as a kid, I still love it now. It almost puts me to sleep!

4) Along the same lines - someone scratching/my back.
It brings me to another place!

5) Ooey, gooey homemade brownies.
As much as I try to say no...I can't. No way, no how. Especially when they're still warm!

6) Nail polish.
I have issues saying no. It's bad.

7) BOGO's.
I get so excited when I see a BOGO with a product/food/etc. that I use. Seriously - so excited. It makes me want to start couponing.

8) Leftovers.
Sounds silly, but I LOVE leftovers. Mostly because that means the next day, I don't have to worry about lunch or dinner. (Huge time saver!)

9) Having my hair straight.
I'm a naturally curly gal. When I have straight hair, I feel like a different person. Oh, and I can run my fingers through my hair...or just brush my hair.

10) Amazing smelling cologne.
I can't even explain where it takes my me...happy thoughts, that's for suuuure!

I am thankful for so much...

To start - I am thankful for many great blogging opportunities.

Also, all of the amazing blogging friends & sisters in Christ I have made through blogging.

Which reminds me of Mary...she sent me a package that included a nice note, flower seeds (can't wait to plant!), and a journal. I am so excited to start writing in my journal...I think I will write about what I am thankful for :)

Up until today, the waves on the beach have been so calm and pretty much non-existent! V & I went kayaking the other day...it was so fun! I love kayaking. I've never done it in the ocean before...it was a BLAST!

I might have found a new favorite wine. I forgot to mention the price in the post when I was chatting about it - it was only $9.99!

I am thinking of getting the gel manicure home kit. I had a good experience with my salon gel manicure! Does anyone have a home kit? If so - is it comparable??

I am getting tan! I mentioned this last week...but that means less make up...which means better skin. Yay!

Tan also means your teeth look whiter :)

Oh and apparently...more compliments than usual :)

I tried a Doritos (chicken) Taco from Taco Bell...YUM!

I was able to hang out with a childhood friend over the weekend...she helped me with my hair & make-up for Saturday's wedding!

I had an absolute blast at Brittany & Jeremiah's wedding on 3/31/12! Congratulations! What a beautiful life you will have.
